I got tempted to put this news in this blog as soon as I came across it, as I feel, all Indians have to learn from our Great President Kalam.
President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam drops in at Khushwant Singh’s Delhi home on Friday. The 93-year-old writer, excited that Kalam had come calling, said he found it unbelievable that a head of state should ‘waste’ his time on a ‘penpusher’. They chatted by the fireplace for almost half an hour, discussing their common passion — books. Rashtrapati Bhavan set the ball rolling on February 2, Khushwant’s birthday, calling to say the President would like to meet him “at his convenience”. “For a while, I believed somebody was pulling my leg…. Presidents do not ask for other people’s convenience. But when the police started coming yesterday, I believed it,” Khushwant said after the meeting. (PTI)
