Two Brothers vs. 2 MDs

Ambani brothers are now all over the news both in print media as well as on small screens. And reporters are trying to dig out every thing about them, the family and also the reliance group companies. Every one connected with Reliance is worried and every one connected with any of the family members including their gurus are on hot chase by the media men. Many of them are even volunteering to come forward to settle the problems. I myself don’t know much about the industrial giant. But I had been a fan of the brothers who were working as complementary to each other and was making the group come up to a new height. I dreamed their group to become the first global company to come in to the best 10 companies of the world.
I was the only child of my parents. I did never have to think about sharing of the love of my parents or their inherited properties, though it was hardly of any significance. But let me confess I always missed someone as brother or sister to whom I could have bestowed my love and affection. Even today I can’t just imagine how two brothers who spends so beautiful days of childhood together can fight for property or as in this case of Ambanis for power. If they have remained brothers, there would not have been this tussle. But perhaps they relish to be MDs more than being brothers and so this problem for them as well for all the stakeholders in Reliance Empire.
I heard two stories today while on my morning walk. It amused me and so I like to share. One gentleman was telling- ‘It is nothing but a mock fight. The value of shares will go down and they will buy them to enhance their holding in the company.’ But I got a shock when someone told that it is a political fight due to Anil’s nearness to Samajbadi Party instigated by the Congress and its President’s men. I was amazed how fertile the human mind is.
But when I thought of the religious gurus trying to help in sorting out the rift, I remembered the relation of Rama and Bharat. The crooked mother got every thing for Bharat but he could never accept it. And the thinking mode moved to Balram and Krishna and how Balram played a subordinate role to Krishna in Maha Bharat. I am sure Dhirubhai imparted in the brothers the traditions and values of a joint family since their childhood. But perhaps the glamour of power is irresistible.
And when I think of my own three sons, I only dream of a very happy, helpful and complementary trio who keep us, themselves and others near to them happy under all circumstances.
