A letter to one who put in a comment

I had a comment from one of the friends. I tried to reply him twice but couldn’t get through. So I am putting it in here.
Hi Indra,
I like your pages. They are very informative and thoughful. You give such good advice to the Indians. But I must say, you don’t have to mention here to the public how well of your sons are, what they drive? The cars you mention are very low grade in American Standard. When giving such good ideas and all, you can avoid personal details. BTW, you sout so much about India but all your next generation is helping the Americans and perhaps they are not going to go back. I suggest your sons arrange some sort of financial assistance pool to help needy Indian students to come here, learn and go back. If you have to develop your country ask your sons to go back. That will be a good start. Indian govt. spent so much money to educate your son’s for American’s welfare? It does not befit you to give high-sounding advice. I hope you will not delete this message if you are honest and give some rationale about your dual or contradictory (or rather hypocritical) practices.I do hope you have the honesty to face self-criticism although all my Indian friends like to hear good things about them, if you give them constructive criticism, they react badly. I think this is a sub-continental phenomenon. Therefore if you delete this message I will think you are just being another Indian not a technocrat of the past, who will show path to others. Think about it.
Dear David.
Thanks for your candor. I liked it However, I shall like to place some points from my side for certain clarification. Blogs as you know are personal journals. Some of the entries are for personal satisfaction too (Swatahsukhaya). I never write with any other intention particularly to hurt any one. I am not hypocrite. I was never, neither I shall like my children to be one. We just consider ourselves lucky. Our only achievements in our life are our children. They got educated as mechanical engineers as sons of an average Indian, came to US, got their masters, and shifted to computer-based skills. None of them have attained the best that they can and I am sure they will. Why should I be proud of those cars and other things that they own? It is more so for me as I spent my whole life in car industry only and in my days I was very much known in the whole of the industry not only in India but also in other European countries and Japan. But I have all right to own my happiness in company of my sons and their family. I have passed on your advice about the charity work and returning to India to my sons. I am sure they are independent-thinking persons as you are and they will do the best.
However, on my blog at all time you shall be having sufficient material to read that you can ignore these smaller inserts. I do take pain and research to provide useful information. I do also express my independent sometimes even aggressive opinions on many issues. You have all the right to disagree. But if you agree and like some idea, please spread it through your friend circle here or in India. I am always there to help someone in my own way, if I can.
P.S. I have corrected some of your words in your letter. Please don’t mind. After all, I am an old man. Hi!
But my e-mail reply didn’t get through. Your address was not correct. I thought I should put it in my blog
