New Maoists: Terror in Parliament
Posted : March 8, 2010 at 5:39 pm [IST]
Can someone say how the disruptive action of the elected MPs in Rajya Sabha is any way different from the Maoists? MPs from the Samajwadi Party (SP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) tore the Women’s Reservation Bill that was placed into shreds and hurling it at Chairman Hamid Ansari.
Is it the way a democracy works? Why should we blame Maoists to take law in their hands, if the elected parliamentarians also do the same?
I suggest all the women protesting in front of the Parliament House go to the houses of the protesting MPs and try to convince the wives of the protesting leaders. I don’t know if some in the crowd will be as arrogant as the ones who tore the document and do something that may be even unlawful o make them the right thing.
Lalu and Mulayam are trying to divide the women of the country into different categories through the reservation. First let them have it for themselves in parliament. They have succeeded in damaging the fabric of integrated India through the reservation for OBC in education sector and government administration. With their demand for reservations for OBC and minority in reservation granted in women’s reservation, they want to open the question of reservation for OBC and minority in parliament and assemblies too.
Should not they be dealt the same way as the government wish to deal with Maoists?
Let the people of the country no more be fooled by these unscrupulous leaders. They are to regain and restore their lost strength through this protest against Women’s Reservation Bill.
But will it make a difference for the women outside the politics?
