MPs! Why OOP Essential?
Posted : July 27, 2006 at 11:05 pm [IST]
Selfish and greedy MPs in Rajya Shabha have passed the ooP (Office of Profit) Bill even though the President and many other wished to reconsider this for its rationality. Why do the MPs try to go for this sort of narrow approach? Will the heaven fall if MPs are not made to occupy the ooP? Why should they keep on trying to do things just to prove they are supreme and they can get everything for themselves with no objection from any quarter? Why can’t the great people of India prove them wrong and protest in mass against it? Why should they assume that the people can’t find better candidates other than MPs for the ooP from the mass of billion plus? Was it the most important bill for the house to spend its energy? What happened to the Education Bill that was to ensure compulsory education for all between the ages of 6-14 years?
And very soon Lok Shabha will also do it and prove that it is supreme. Who bothers for the President and his opinion?
