RSS Behaving Antinational

Was it just a chance that BJP grew as a national political party to end the monopoly of Congress party, that was disliked by many as a party of sycophants living on the emotional exploitation of the Indian mass through a dynastic family of Nehru? I am sure some in BJP worked very hard without any doubt to establish itself as an alternative to the Congress even after Sonia’s takeover.
A huge number of intellectuals both in India as well as in foreign countries liked this rightist party and its good work when in power. While in power as a major constituent of NDA, the party leadership did a wonderful job with many initiatives at national level to take the country ahead to take it into developed nations category by 2020. It did an excellent job of running a huge coalition of political parties with maturity. Every one will at least give credit to the BJP leadership to lay a road map for running the nation with sufficient political stability even with a number of political parties with varying ideologies. Even the present UPA has evolved on the same guidelines.
RSS and its other ancillaries might have helped BJP in getting in power, but during its governance they only created many obstructions as other opposition parties did in carrying out some of the reforms of national importance. We thought RSS was nearer to Advani and wished to take him above Atalji. With Advani in chair now, RSS has gone against him too.
But the RSS and VHP are mistaken that the people are with them, as they represent Hindutva. If that would have been so, Hindu Mahasabha also could have own elections. RSS by meddling into affairs of BJP as a political party is causing immense harm to the democracy that requires at least two strong parties with following all over the country.
The way RSS and VHP are behaving, BJP will disintegrate and perhaps, many younger leaders of BJP will switch to some other political parties including the Congress. If they don’t switch over, it will be only because they think they can’t flourish in a dynastic party. By bringing in some totally unknown figure to head the BJP only on basis of the person’s relation with RSS, BJP will soon become part of history. When there are so many public figures with the potentials to lead the political party, why can’t one of them be chosen to head the party and lead it in next election that will be crucial for BJP’s survival as a national force? If necessary, they can get help from some established market research companies to conduct a nation wide opinion survey.
RSS may facilitate the party in setting up the system that can elect democratically the right candidate to lead BJP, but it must not get tempted to run the party by proxy. I am sure many like me must be feeling very sorry with what is going on in BJP.
Another very important lesson that RSS must learn that with time every things must get changed and improved to survive the global forces of the society dynamics. They will have to come out from its self-created and highly protective cocoon. RSS must work on social issues of the society that are many. VHP must devote its energy to make the Hindu society free from the evils that it has created for itself over the years.
It will be interesting to watch the developments going on in BJP that can make or break the party. Many like me wish BJP to come out of the present crisis as a stronger political party that provides an alternative to the dynastic Congress. RSS must reconcile to its supportive role instead of the politics and conspiracy to make the nation weak.
